My Recent Gifts

Me and My Family

I am a father to a little hellion named Matthew, twin hellions named Katelyn and Jordan.  I am husband to a big hellion named Izzy who is also a Minti member.   I have a Master's Degree in Engineering and currently work as a Senior Engineer for a large corporation.  I spend most of my free time chasing Matthew trying to keep him out of trouble, changing diapers on the twins, and playing games on the computer when the wife allows which isn't very frequently.

Naked Dining

Comment Published at 18:5218:529 comments9 comments75 Visits75 VisitsReport

Imagine you are having a nice meal with the whole family actually sitting at the table.  There are no outburst or frustrated outbursts of why wont you eat.  It is the proverbial quiet peaceful meal that is so rare.  The twins are in their high chairs being fed by mommy, while Matthew and I eat our dinner.   I look over speaking to Izzy for a few moments only to hear my son start saying pee and laughing.   I turn around to find him standing on his chair with his pants down around his ankles pretending to pee on the table and laughing...

I think he gets this from Izzy..

6 Random Things about me...

Comment Published at 18:2818:2812 comments12 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport

I have been tagged by MrMintyMan

Here are the rules for this tag.

  1. Link to the person that tagged you.
  2. Post the rules on your blog.
  3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
  4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
  5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Are you ready? I know you just can't wait to know 6 random quirky things about me.

1. I know kung fu.  Well not kung fu, but I studied American Kenpo Karate for a couple of years.  I was supposed to test for my brown belt until Izzy had Matthew and all time slowed to a stop.  I also studied Traditional Tae Kwon Do and a little bit of jujitsu and Escrima.  BTW before you ask, yes Izzy studied Kenpo too, and yes I have the pics of the abuse, though I do wish I had a picture when she gave me a bloody nose.

2. I am completely incapable of keeping my car clean.  I think at this point it is genetic.  Give me less than one week and you can't see the floor.  Of course Izzy says this is not limited to the car, but has slowly over time migrated to my office, the garage and if she didn't put a stop to it the bedroom as well.

3. It can take me less than one minute to frustrate someone to the point of pulling their hair out, screaming, or resorting to physical violence.  Its a gift, but I have learned to abuse, I mean use it wisely.  BTW, my record for irritating Izzy is on the order of 30 secs, but I am proud that my son can do it in half the time.  He is definitely daddy's little boy.

4. I can read a 400 page book in less than 3 hours.  I have read many of my favorite books around 30-50 times.

5. I am great at directions.  I know the exact locations of all exits and bathrooms in any store, mall, or building even if it is the first time I am entering.  I am a long time sufferer of IBS so knowing bathroom locations is VERY important.  The directions part came from growing up in North Carolina in the US, where roads will go N, S, E, and W without taking a u-turn or going back the way you came.

6. I will spontaneously start up or continue a conversation with the same person that was interrupted or carried on anywhere from 2 days to 2 months ago.  This actually really confuses people at first when I do it.  To be honest, I usually am unaware I am doing it.  It really frustrated Izzy when we first got married, now she is used to it, or she just ignores me when she doesn't have a clue what I am talking about, which can be frequent.

Ok, now I tag angbob, julielf, cheleinkal, mummycristlyn, katiepiatt, and michellei.  You don't have to do anything with this, but it would be fun.

Izzy's foul mouth...

Comment Published at 16:0816:0821 comments21 comments119 Visits119 VisitsReport
So the other day we were in the car at the mall.  Izzy was in the back when she barely avoided being sprayed with poop from Katie.  She being frustrated yelled "Mother..", but stopped from saying F-er due to past instances with Matthew.  Within about 10 secs Matthew being the bright boy he is finished her exclaimation for her with "F-er".  I froze, trying not to laugh.  Izzy froze as well and whispered "Did you hear that?".  In reply I told Matthew, "That is an adult word, don't use it please.   His response was typical for a toddler.  He proceeded to keep repeating it and laughing for the next 5 min..

And yes that is a true story that Izzy taught Matty the F-word.   I thought you guys would like to know about some of her sordid side....
